…because The One Called Donna has lost her mind decided to take part in NaNoWriMo.
What the heck is that, you ask? (That’s what I asked too.) Apparently, eight writers over at The Office of Letters and Light thought it would be a good idea to try and inspire peoples humans to be more creative by challenging them to write the first draft of a novel – or at least the first 50,000 words of it – in just one month.
Yup. You read that correctly. An entire novel. In. A. Month.
They call it National Novel Writing Month.

NaNoWriMo
Personally, knowing how long it takes me to write just one blog post, I think these writers are absolutely nuts. But The One Called Donna has become smitten with the idea, because she feels it will help get her past her recent case of laziness writer’s block.
And since she’s taking the challenge, she said she’s going to need the computer…which leaves me in the dark. I’ll try my best to sneak online once in a while to visit all of your blogs so I can keep up with the news, but I can’t promise I’ll get to them nearly as often as I have in the past. I hope you nice peoples and pups understand – and that you will be patient while The One Called Donna pursues this idiotic time waster her goals – because I promise to be back in December to tell you what a disaster it was let you all know how she did. Plus, I’ll still be posting early next week….providing we still have power after some storm named Sandy that the peoples are all talking about.

we are going to miss you but we wish Donna good luck! Be safe in the storm!
Thanks Caren and Dakota. My peoples will do their best to keep us all safe, even Bo, who is riding the storm out with us.
Mom and I will miss you but we are looking forward to fresh and exciting content in December – no pressure
Thanks Emma and Emma’s mom. Don’t worry, I’ll be back as soon as The One Called Donna unhands the keyboard.
Good luck to Donna.
She said to tell you thanks!
Greetings. Mummy hs heard of this venture and wishes your person lots of luck. Me and Nellie enjoy reading your blog, especially all about zombies. We had never heard of these creatures before. Love Nellie and Jasper, the two bestest maremmas in all the land.
Thanks…I will pass the luck around. And while I’m gone, watch out for those zombies!
We are hoping the novel will be about dogs or it is a complete waste of time.
Her last one, which she is shopping out, is about dogs, but not this one. I don’t think I will bother to read it either.
I’m not sure what possessed me, but I’m giving it a shot too, Toby. I’ll miss your posts but I’m not going to have a lot of time for reading.
I’m sure you’re all prepared for Sandy, but if you need to evacuate, you all are welcome here.
See you on the other side brother.
Thanks Jodi-peoples. We are as prepared as we can be with an extra dog in the house! It’s a long swim to you….but the offer is very generous.
Good luck with the writing thing…I bet you’ll write more than you think!

Peoples and their weird passions. Words. words. words…
Hey Toby,
I hope you’re all doing ok during the storm buddy!!
I agree, I think your Donna is nuts!! But good luck to her-it’s a mammoth task!!
I also think it’s time you had your own computer Dude – just take your treats down to the Apple Store and I’m sure you can trade them for a nice little iPad!! Tee Hee
Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy
You are full of good ideas! We are as prepared as we can be for the storm, but may not have access to a computer for several days to update.
We will miss you!!! But look on the positice maybe this is what Donna needs to get it out of her system and let you be full time communicator for the family – in fact I think you should write a book and take part in this nanomiro (or something like that!)
Keep safe if Sandy is heading you way – thinking of you!
Maybe I will write a book when she’s done with hers! Thanks about the storm, we are trying to be safe!
I bet your book would be a best seller!!
Wouldn’t that be something? Bet The One Called Donna would be jealous!
Maybe she will be successful and sell her novel and then she can buy you your very own computer
. Wish her good luck from us.
I don’t know…if she sells that thing she might want a bigger house so she can foster more dogs, or even worse, evil kitties!
You go girl!!! Looking forward to reading that novel when it comes out!!! Have fun with it!
Thanks Jan…let’s hope I can sell this one, unlike the luck I’ve been having finding an agent for the last one I wrote.
I don’t know how I missed this post….I’m inclined to blame NaNoWriMo. My comments on peoples’ blog has suffered since November started!
Best of luck to Donna, I do hope that she has a lovely and enriching NaNo experience!
Mine too, Jen-peoples, but only cause The One Called Donna has hijacked the computer and won’t share. If only I could figure out how to use it while she is at work…
