Last week I told you about my protégé, Bo, a good looking Lab like me who is (still) looking for a home of his own. This week I’d like to tell you about Maggie – another retriever waiting over with the nice peoples at the New York State Retriever Rescue for someone to find her and take her in.

According to the NYSRR website: “Maggie is a sweet, petite, 2 year old “almost” golden. She has that lovable golden personality, that we all know and love! Maggie really needs to be in an adult home without any kids OR other dogs. She has been cat scanned and she does love cats! Maggie should be in a home where she can be the center of attention and get all the affection she so deserves! Her foster Mom reports that she is an exceptional house guest with all the best of manners and lots of loving to spare. If you can find it in your heart to give this girl a forever home, please fill out an adoption application or call NYSRR @ 516-828-1177 or e-mail us at nysrr@yahoo.com.”

What’s an “almost” Golden anyway? Well, according to Janet, who’s one of the boss peoples over at NYSRR, Maggie is on the small side…like a mini-Golden…

In fact, if it was up to Janet, she’d combine the “golden” and “midget” and change her name to “Gidget.” Personally, I think she should just call her that, if that’s how she feels, but peoples like to call us dogs multiple names for some reasons. Sort of like how The One Named Nick calls me a ~~pain in the @#X!~~….instead of Just Toby.

In an effort to help more dogs like me find new homes – even the swamp collies – I’m planning to post a retriever per week, and I’d appreciate it if you peoples and pups wouldn’t mind sharing each one by using these simple tools below:

So what does she weight? It is hard to tell from a picture.

    Heard back already (boy are those retriever peoples on top of things!) and she is about 45 – 50 lbs.

That’s very sweet of you to try and help those LESS FORTUNATE than yourself Toby, I sometimes wonder if Delilah wouldn’t be happier being the only dog.
